To want a turkey is a common want,
Possessed of bronze and shimmery plumage,
And with bright heads that burst out like a taunt!
Many wish for turkeys in their roomage.

But be warned! Although the turkey allures,
Look at its sharp talons, its beady eyes!
That beautiful beast you want to call yours
Is fearsome under its cunning disguise.

A poor, unsuspecting turkey wanter,
Finding a poor turkey chick by the road,
May find themself with a mighty monster,
A beautiful, loving, but brutal load.

So I saw to wanters, with wariment,
Give those birds to me instead, Meriment!
