6.8.1 Selling Things

You can sell just about anything if you know where or to whom! Have a sword you
no longer need? One of the land's many practitioners of forging would be
willing to take it off your hands. Did you just milk 5 vials of curare? One of
the land's many warriors will surely buy them.


Things You Can Sell Direct

vials       - SELL VIAL[#] TO <vial buyer>         - see HELP SELLING VIALS


Mostly Adventurers, Not Shops
-----------------------------
Most shops don't buy, but Adventurers do: the trick is to find them! The
easiest ways can be on the market channel or with ads. Other options relate to
credits and becoming a shopowner.

MARKET  - after level 11 or so you can use the market channel to look for
          adventurers to buy things from you. (HELP MARKET)

ADS     - Advertisements are an alternative to MARKET. (HELP ADS)

CREDITS - Transfer/sell credits to other adventurers (HELP CREDIT TRANSFER)
          or use the credit market. (HELP CREDIT MARKET)

RATS    - Ashtan, Hashan, Targossas, Cyrene, and Mhaldor each have a denizen
          that will buy rats from you. (HELP RATS)

FISH    - Tasurke, Shastaan, and Minia have fish buyers (HELP FISHING).

COMMS   - Commodities may be bought and sold at comm shops (HELP COMMS).

SHOPS   - You could become a shopowner. This can be extremely expensive.
          Shops may be available from their current owners, or their cities.

Some Things That Should be Pretty Easy To Sell (And To Whom!)

weapons - try asking a forger who can smelt.
armour  - try asking a forger who can smelt.

Persons - Slaves and Otherwise
------------------------------
You cannot auction, sell, or offer for rent, lease, loan, or any other form of
use or transfer, persons or people.

Services are fine.

Slave auctions happen, but they must always clearly and explicitly mention that
services - not persons - are for sale or being offered for whatever purpose -
lease, rent, loan, etc. That means clearly and explicitly EVERY TIME it is
mentioned, not just once at the beginning of the auction.
