8.2.3 Houses, Classes, Restrictions, and Conflict
(See also: HELP HOUSES, HELP CLASSES, HELP CHOOSING A HOUSE, HELP HOUSE COMMANDS) Not all classes may join all Houses. Sometimes there are irreconcilable differences. These may stem from fundamental conflicts, House restrictions, and Icon Spheric tunings. Fundamental Conflicts --------------------- Once a House has a single member with Devotion, then it may have no members with Necromancy or Occultism. Once a House has a single member with Necromancy or Occultism, it may have no members with Devotion. These are fundamental conflicts that cannot be overcome in any manner. House Restrictions ------------------ Houses may choose to restrict which classes they accept into membership, either via auto induction (See HOUSE AUTOINDUCT RESTRICT) or via whatever policies they may choose to implement when they induct new members. Through auto induction you may also forbid the citizens of certain cities, though that is not strictly a class-related concern. Specific Restrictions --------------------- Those of the Grand Merchant Collective and the Carnivalis Institute of Jestering cannot join factional classes. This is because such classes are restricted to specific cities. House Icon Spheric Tuning ------------------------- House Icons have two forms of tuning for their powers: primary and spheric. Spheric tunings, once selected, may conflict with certain classes as follows: Sphere Conflicts with these Classes -------- ---------------------------------------- HELL Druid, Paladin, Priest, Sentinel, Sylvan EMPYREAN Apostate, Infernal, Occultist NATURE Apostate, Infernal CHAOS Paladin, Priest (See also: HELP HOUSES, HELP CLASSES, HELP CHOOSING A HOUSE, HELP HOUSE COMMANDS)
