14.2 Newbie Quests
(see HELP QUESTS, HELP QUEST LOG, HELP LODI, HELP MINIA, HELP GHELADAN, HELP RATTING, and HELP BUTTERFLIES) Hello, new adventurer! Wondering how to get started in Achaea with * increasing in experience, and * gaining gold? Read on! Quests are the key. With quests you can gain experience, gold, and sometimes items of great power. Some have risen to the eightieth level of experience, or higher, by questing ALONE! Quests are generally for you to figure out, alone, on your own, without help of any kind. Quests are puzzles and stories and situations, deliveries and lost and found and any number of things you can do for which there is a reward. See HELP QUESTS for more information. To get you started in Achaea, we have provided a list of denizens that you can talk to in Minia, Lodi, and Gheladan, all of whom have one or more quests for you to help them with. Simply GREET the denizen or say something like, "Hello, do you have a quest for me?" or "I'm looking for work." You will then be offered the opportunity to accept the quest and prompted to say "Yes" or "No." Some emotes such as "sure" and "okay" will also work to accept a quest. Sometimes you will have to do something, like pick up an item, to accept a quest. If you have quest hints enabled (CONFIG QUESTHINTS ON) you will see a prompt that tells you what to do to accept the quest. When you have accepted a quest, it will be added to your quest log! Just type QUEST LOG to see a list of all the quests you have accepted. There are many quests to encounter outside the newbie areas of Minia, Lodi, and Gheladan. These quests, however, do not necessarily require you to say "yes" or "no" to accept, and they may not show up in your quest log. Some of them are simply designed to be secret quests that you must discover; others just have not yet been added to the current system.
