Mirudraas,
Actually, its much more simple than that.
See, goodness all stems from the belief that everyone has the right to live their lives as they wish, providing they dont infringe on other peoples rights to do the same. Such a society is called the ultimate freedom.
Evil stems from the belief that you only have rights if you have the strength to seize/keep them. Thus the evil person will steal freedom from a neutral, good, or another evil person, for their own benefit. Its called the aquisition of power.
A person who is "good" or "righteous" believes that all have a right to freedom, but they take it a step further. They believe that if all have the right to freedom, then people that disrupt the balance of freedom must be stopped. Destroyed. Converted. Whatever - so long as this disruption of freedom is stopped.
There are many aspects to goodness and evil, and many names for specific acts, and codes of behavious etc etc - but it all stems from this one disagreement about life - does freedom belong to all, or just those strong enough to sieze it? Every aspect of the struggle between Good and Evil may be traced to this one, single, core conflict.
