rats in regards to animals

Unlike the other animals, rats are VASTLY overpopulated. If anything,
albeit in a twisted manner of thinking, culling the rat population helps
the rat in the long run by slaying those with the less desirable traits
for survival, i.e. the ones you can most likely see and kill. The ones
which remain hidden in the crooks, crannies, and burrows have better survival
instincts and are more likely to be the ones to live and breed, thus passing
these on to their young.

Or, though it may be hypocritical, rats are more city dwelling creatures, and
I really don't care to stand up for them in any event. If you see a rat in
the forest, let it be, I suppose would be a solution.
