The Way of the World

Lady Dawnia,
You are new to the land, I feel that it is possible that you may
misunderstand what you have seen. And perhaps those who have long
dwelled in Achaea are so used to such that they do not realize that
you may have missed these things.

Our land has many long standing rivalries. These may be between guilds,
or cities, or individual people. You were present as a combat began
that illustrates these long standing rivalries. Such combats are
common punctuations in our history.

Perhaps unknowing of the history, the personages, and the consequences
of your actions, you interferred in this vendetta, and thus brought it
upon yourself. This act I do not consider dishonourable, by any means,
but it may have been unwise. Thus you allied yourself with your
friend and companion. And thus you became the enemy of his enemies,
and they killed you. Given this sequence of logic, surely you can
understand why. After all, you attacked them and became a participant.

From this point, unfortunately, you have further engaged yourself in
this vendetta. As long as you choose this, this is good. But do not
be surprised at the results... nor be so naive as to make false claims
as to the consequences.

As for the namecalling that resulted, I remind you that if you are to
call others stupid for spelling mistakes in their scribing, then you
should be *extremely* careful to avoid such spelling mistakes yourself,
lest you appear the fool. Sadly, you have already made such mistakes in
your anger. Similarly, making fun of someone's name is indeed in ill
humour, particularly since you imply that surely no misspelling could
be intentional nor humorous... and then sign yourself a "Knewbie Knight".

I point out these small things so that you might better understand the
world of Achaea, and the people within it. Whoever you choose as your
companions, and whatever fights you choose to join, I hope that you will
enjoy your time here. But be not surprised that your actions will
indeed have consequences.

Sincerly,
Brother Thaulan, Devil's Advocate
