Of treaties that fail, and those who do not follow

Greetings friends,

Peace has solved nothing. The treaty was meant to bring a temporary peace between the cities of Ashtan and Shallam. Obviously, temporary was the correct word for labeling the treaty, because as new citizens of both cities emerged, they chose not to research the laws of the time, and soon the treaty was all but forgotten. Peace was a complete failure, not clearing up any doubt on the shrine issue. Logically, neither side will have their way unless they can prove it in battle. The whole purpose of a shrine is to aid in battle, although most Church members claim that the prime purpose is for worship, so battling over them would be fitting. I do not remember the last time I saw someone worshiping at a shrine. Both sides should fight for their beliefs, instead of cowering behind treaties.

Personally, I am not a citizen of Ashtan, but a follower of Sartan. I will continue to defile whatever shrine I feel like defiling, for complying to any treaty would be against my beliefs, and I make a large attempt to not be hypocritical. I accept any consequences the Church shall give me, for I do not complain, but only exclaim out in ecstacy at any pain brought to me.

On a softer note, the poetry contest is still up and running. There are still some spots left for sonnets, so get them in. Details about it can be found in public post 2921. Good luck!

May evil guide you on your path towards greatness.

Penned by my hand on the 18th of Mayan, in the year 233 AF.
