Misinterpretation by the uninformed, and Justice.

The extent of your misinterpretations of my words, leaves me no doubt about the magnitude of your ignorance regarding the essence and purpose of the Church. Allow me to explain:
In my post, I wrote, as you quoted me, "the Church is quick to punish those who are evil and defend the people of Sapience from injustice". Then you criticize me as being hypocritical, twisting my words "punish those who are evil. . ." (no doubt out of misunderstanding) to say "Punishing others for not following the Church".
Here is the enlightening truth: We of the Church punish others for their evil and injust actions, to protect the rest of Achaea from the threat that the evil pose to their personal lives and pursuit of happiness. The Church does have its own internal beliefs, but there are two categories which encompass Achaeans as a whole: the Evil, and the Not Evil. If you wish to claim that only those who are in the Church are in this "Not Evil" category, you are sorely mistaken, my friend. There are many people who are Not Evil, who also do not "follow the Church" in your words.
This leads me to point out another misunderstanding on your part. Your term, "following the Church" has no meaning. The Church is an organization of people who have dedicated their lives to the progress and maintenance of all that is virtuous in Achaea. One is either a member of the Church and committed to this service, or one is not a member of the Church, and therefore has no such obligation to the people of Achaea. Certainly, we of the Church have our own beliefs, but it is these beliefs which have brought us together, which have convinced us to become members of the Church in the first place. Just as we do not force anyone to join the Church against their will (and I do believe this is obvious and well known throughout the land), we do not force our believs on anyone. Therefore, we consider only those who are already members of the Church to be what you call "followers of the Church".
Now, I shall discuss the fallacies of your limited view that justice cannot go further than subjectivity. Considering that happiness is no doubt unanimously at the root of every person's unalienable rights in life, I base *my* code of Justice on that ideal state in which the happiness of every person is preserved, and those who violate this state are to be punished. The Evil, according to my code of Justice, are those who gain happiness in the act of violating the happiness of others. The injust are those who violate the happiness of others out of greed.
Since everyone, regardless of belief or virtue, has the right to happiness, my code of Justice transcends subjectivity.
Sincerely as always,
Echo
