What purpose does emotional efficiency serve? Did the gods give us the gift of sentience so that we would spend all our thoughts on hating other godly creations? Did the gods grace us with the gift of spirit so that we would ignore it in the strive for "emotional efficiency"? It seems to me that the followers of this creed mistakenly believe that achieving "emotional efficiency" means that their mind is liberated for reasoning. I'm sure most everyone else, however, would tend to agree with the idea that I myself consider more worthy.
He who achieves liberation of the mind and mastery of reasoning would be the one who has completely separated his wealth of emotions from interfering with his conclusions about the world.
No doubt, some people (whom I most definitely pity) find it easier to simply neglect all emotions save the one most profitable for themselves--the one that caters to greed and self-centered pursuit of happiness (heedless to the expense of their happiness to others)--namely, hatred.
Having banished all but hatred from their hearts, and seeing themselves as the center of creation, they believe they have liberated their mind from all emotion and thus see the world most clearly. In truth, the only world they end up seeing is themselves, wouldn't you agree?
Sincerely,
Echo
