Nothing changes

I have been reading the earliest posts here on the public board. My observation is that nothing ever changes, except one thing. No one of the calibre of Servelan currently exists. I in no way support her or what she stood for, but there is a reason why she is the only mortal to ever achieve Transcendance. Most of those who lived in that noble time are now gone. Portis and Aggamemnon are the only two that come directly to mind, forgive me for leaving out anyone else.
What is the point of this? Most of us here in this young generation are mainly concerned with advancing our skills and becoming great fighters. Servelan was never number one in Achaea and was not by any means the best fighter, but she was the most powerful force in those old posts. You can't go more than 5 or 6 posts before finding one that deals with her. She was a liar, deceitful, treacherous, and sometimes stupid(she let herself get cornered into causing Sarapis to refute her on this board). Through it all, though, she was one of the most compelling people I have had the pleasure of knowing about in this fine land.
I encourage you to read those posts. Nothing changes. The arguments in the beginning are still the ones today. Why do the bad guys team and the good guys always get jumped by themselves? Is the Church corrupt and are the Occultists just a group of people searching for knowledge? What do the Druids really stand for? It's all there in the beginning. The only thing that changes is that we grow and forget. Let us not forget anymore. We can learn from our past and become better as a world.
Please do not think that I advocate the actions that Servelan took in any way. She was a destable individual. To say anything more would be repetition. I don't know what I hoped to achieve with this post, so just take it as it is.
