It's time again for my sporadic comments and opinions.
As far as the arguements about the forest and Hashan deal... it's not accomplishing much. Everyone is saying the same old things, time, and time again, so how about breaking the monotony of the posts, and the monotony of saying the posts are monotonous.
And to contradict myself...
As someone who supports neither Hashan, nor the Oakstone council, but someone who supports the forest, I say if you're not helping the forest, you're hurting it, and I fail to see how sending hundreds of soldiers trouncing around the forest, hunting, and cutting wood to build fires, is helping it. Hashan claims to mean no harm, and that they need to claim Northern Ithmia in order to spread their lands and avoid suffocation... I could see this as a valid claim if they did indeed try to cut their damage to a minimum by relinquishing all but a narrow path to the road.
Oakstone is no better... They bargain for certain forests... Or rather, Gaia does. From what I've seen the Oakstone is completely helpless, being only Gaia's mouthpiece, rather than an actual functioning council, and even in that capacity, it acts poorly... what kind of protector willingly sacrifices a charge, even to what they view as temporary.
I cringe, and add another name to my list every time I see a Sentinel who posts in support of ANY occupation of ANY forest... it saddens me to see what I created, or attempted to create, become such a spineless joke. I can't claim to see everything that happens in the guild. In fact, I see even more of nothing happening than when I led them, which says much since a lot of nothing was happening then, but we weren't supporting the destruction of the forests we claimed to defend.
All hate mail, death threats, zaps, newsletter subsctiptions, and assassination attempts can be adressed to someone else. I don't really care about them.
Penned by my hand on the 23rd of Aeguary, in the year 228 AF.
