Occupation of Ithmia

The people of Hashan may delude themselves as to how Twilight can taint every aspect of their city, but I will not. A patron alters the way people act as much as the most charismatic ruler, make no mistake on that count. Who could ignore the subtle arts of a God of Night and Shadows? Of hidden things? Of course you believe you are acting of your own will. That is Twilight's lure. His garrote is a flaxen cord, but no less deadly. I was under the idealistic impression that when a way for Hashan to release our homes was discovered, they would do so. Now they say there is no possible way that could be done, for political reasons, although there is now a method for freeing land. Is this not treachery?
If you are unwilling to release your strangle hold on all of Northern Ithmia, at least release those groves tended by a Druid or Sentinel. I think that this is a small thing to ask. Would a Priest or Paladin not want the city of their choice to control the land surrounding their shrine? Then why is it so wrong to ask for no city to control those lands most sacred to the followers of Gaia?
I weighed the consequences of making this post before writing it. Would it not be proper for one so young to trust negotiations to the elders of her guild? I considered this idea, but rejected it. It would be difficult to trust those who allowed Hashan to take control of Northern Ithmia in the first place.
Penned by my hand on the 25th of Valnuary, in the year 227 AF.
