Chuckle, you forgot about the other main point I made in my post. . .sacrificial preparation offers non-sentient beings a gift otherwise reserved solely for intelligent sentients: a choice. The sacrifical prayer asks the animal whether it wishes to accept the honor of being a sacrifice, and even when it chooses to follow us and become a sacrifice it retains its own free will. It can change its mind even on the way to the sacrificial shrine. Indeed, the holy spirit is so revered and treasured, that we offer it the gift of choice, allowing it to decide whether or not its life has been fulfilled. We do not choose to end an animal's life for it, and instead we leave that decision to the free will of the animal.
Sincerely,
Echo
