What is the Guild of Knights?

Commandant Pleak,
While I am hesitant to jump into the challenges issued to my betrothed when he is apt at fighting them himself .. here I am.
Sir Aerek would never give up a chance to talk philosophy. He, frustratingly at times, waxes for days on ponderences and speaks open and freely with all who approach him. It is nice however, to see he may have taken the advice 'if he hasn't gotten it yet either he won't get it or is being willfully ignorant'. I recognise his long-winded, days-long pontifications may sometimes obscure the initial point so I will try to explain in my usual brusque way.
The modern day Guild of Knights are adventurers who are loyal to their chosen cause and treat their challenges and opponents with respect even if none is given. Since the causes can be varied in values Orders have formed and the Guild is where shared values are discussed that is referred to as honour, but for the layman I think 'good sportsmanship' is a better description.
These people who are disciplined enough to be recognized under the Guild of Knights are noted to be chivalrous enough for it to be considered a skill that those outside the Guild lack.
Thank you for your time and I hope it clears some of the confusion,
Tahquil Maris
