The board is set

Hello,

The general mood seems to be in agreement that opposing Pazuzu and Slith is the logical course of action, yet I cannot help but wonder at the complacency that has ushered reality down this path.

In reference to EVENTS #537 and #538 - What should have been an expedient end was forestalled by a humble plea from a father, and though both father and son paid a heavy price to seal that particular pact, it remains that all this could have been avoided had the axe fallen then and there.

And, in spite of the many, many blows suffered by Death's Demise, with assurances from the Garden that he will never again rise, that again was proven false, and the assault upon the Underworld was left with Aurora staring at an empty throne.

Now here we are presently, with the location of Slith finally revealed not by the Lightbringer's promise, but by a prayer to the Lord of Oblivion Himself, and in Their haste to smite him did They leave the Prime, leaving Pazuzu the perfect opportunity for exploitation.

I suspect that we mortals must now play our parts to aid Them yet again, though this I only speculate, as I was not even a glimmer in my father's eye during Bal'met's assault or other such historical precedence. Yet, even a lowly pawn must sometimes wonder at the competency of the hand moving it, and truly such a time is perhaps now.

Pazuzu will perhaps prove a worse overseer of the board, but perhaps the price of jolting the Players requires a bit of chaos, death, and healthy competition, no?

Either way, it will certainly be interesting.

Signed,
AD

Penned by my hand on the 11th of Aeguary, in the year 922 AF.
