Greetings Sapience!
After the rousing success of the first event, I am proud to announce that Hashan's second ever Mule Jousting Event will be taking place soon, on the Fourth of Scarlatan, year 900 just one day after Serenade! All not enemied to the city of Hashan are welcome to attend with prizes to the top three contenders as well as door prizes just to participate going to a few lucky winners! This isn't just your normal jousting contest though, so lets go over a few ground rules that all the participants will be expected to follow.
1) Unlike the more proper jousting events, this event will take place outside of the arena and the results will be left to chance. As such, you must simply hold a lance in your hands and JOUST your opponent. The price to register for this event is 2000 gold sovereigns. (Lances can be provided for free, but must be turned in at the end of the event)
2) All participants must be mounted on a mule class mount, no exceptions to this rule. It is a MULE JOUST afterall. If you do not have a mule, we will have loaners for those that wish to participate but it is important that you have the riding ability of JOUSTING in order to participate in the event. If you are unsure if your mount qualifies as a mule simply PROBE it.(Urn mounts are not allowed as they are legendary)
3) The winner will be decided by the first to reach 3+ points in a match. If you unseat your opponent, you will be awarded 2 points. Should both participants in the bout be unseated, both will be awarded 1 point. Should both participants reach 3 points, the next to score will win. This will carry on until we have a clear winner.
4) Pairings will be posted and announced with judges announcing who's turn it is to participate in the current bout. Any found to interfere with the round will be disqualified as are any who are not present or do not respond within a timely manner when called upon to joust. Pairings will be decided before each round begins and posted on a poster in the room.
5) The rounds will continue until we have a clear winner. If there are three people left at the end of the event, one participant will be asked to joust against one of the judges. In the elimination rounds, if you are lucky enough to not get a pairing, you have earned yourself a bye, a free win for that round and automatically advance on to the next.
6) A participant can concede at any time for any reason. In the event that you no longer wish to carry on with the event, let us know and you will be dropped. There will not be refunds given to those that drop from the event.
Prizes will be listed at time of event, but currently sit at 75 credits for 1st, 50 for 2nd, and 25 for 3rd! So do not dally!
Those of you who have any other questions or wish to sign up, please seek out myself, or the Minister of Cultural Affairs, Tilia, and we will do our best to answer them. Above all else, have fun, be merry, and may your mount be the only arse you land on!
