A Resolution to Honour

A new year dawns, and it is tradition to begin one with a resolution.
In partnership with the Guild of Knights, the city of Ashtan seeks to found its own chivalric order. The Imperator Archaeon, having entered my training as a Page, seeks to reforge himself upon the Guild anvil and found this order. Some of you have noticed. Some of you have yet to be impressed. I have tasked him with impressing you.
Going forth, he will answer all honourable challenges to combat. He will issue honourable challenges to his enemies, and will hunt or ambush only those who refuse such challenges. He shall accept the consequences of his acts, and expect his opponents do the same. The Code of Chivalry does not demand kindness, nor timidity, nor mercy--and Sapience should expect none--but it does demand decorum, integrity, and adherence to principle.
If he fails in this, I bid you inform me. If he upholds the Code, I bid you inform me. It is difficult to unlearn old habits, but Knighthood is a path of weathering hardship. Hold him accountable, and his Knight shall as well.
Penned by my hand on the 3rd of Sarapin, in the year 897 AF.
