Knighthood

Greetings to all of you!

I would like to share my thoughts on knighthood with the all of you and would be pleased if this could provide philosophical discussions - not arguments on this theme.

In the animal kingdom, the distinction between "good" and "evil" is irrelevant. Also the further exsisting shades of alignment are irrelevant. Animals behave according to their instincts. They are firmly embedded in a certain environment. Their behavior is largely species-specific. Apart from that, the limitations of the animal environment are not a disadvantage: their instinctive organization fits like a key in the lock of the relevant factors.

Mortals, on the other hand, do not live in a fixed environment. They have a realm in which they must make meaning of their very first clues and what happens in them. Drives and instincts are of little help to them. For orientation, the waste is aimed at commonly shared interpretations through out the realm in order to be able to understand the realm at all. Precisely because the horizon of mortal interest is not limited, it must be all the more important - as it were natural - to be able to determine what in the world is considered "good", what in it is considered "evil" or as a "good" or an "evil".

The distinction between "good" and "bad" is therefore one of the most important fundamentals of our orientation according to our alighnment. What a angelic soul finds to be bad, may be for a malevolent soul "good" and vice versa. Being forced to make this clear distinction for anthropological reasons is similar for mortals as opportunity and burden, gift and task. Philosophy has been concerned with this fact since its beginning by Lord Lucretius, God of Philosophy and Knowledge, one of the original Elder Gods, not only in ethics but also in anthropology and metaphysics. The power of these terms to provide orientation for our lives can already be gauged from the fact that we even substantive and substantiate "good" and "evil" and then speak of "good" and "evil" as if "that good" and "that evil" are independent real actors who determine their effect in our realm, if not even determine the course of history.

Being a Knight of Cyrene, I was knighted by the aspects of a neutral alignment. This therefore implies that all aspects of knighthood I have learned - were always in connection with this alignment. We were taught that a Mhaldorian Knight is just as knightly as we are, due to the fact that they adhere to the same virtues only in accordance to their alighnment. To name virtues, see the following:

Chivalry - Virtues:
-------------------
Humility, chivalrous reputation, honor, courtesy, bravery, restraint, "goodness",
generosity, subservient, devoted love, loyalty, dignity, constancy, upbringing
by set rules and decency

Honour:
-------
Chivalrous self-esteem: The knight avoids doing dishonorable things, meeting dishonorable people or such dubious reputations, or engaging in trade.
Fairness: The knight refrains from gaining an advantage that is unfair in his eyes.

All in all: If it is dishonourable for me to do something, my neutral alignment does not adhere to, does not lead to the fact that, for an example, a Mhaldorian Knight, who acts up to exactly what I find dishonourable, however is honourable within his alignment, is not acting knightly and vice versa and everyone keeps on acting bonum suumum in connection with their alignment.

Collectively, and to come to an end of this post, the question can be asked: Where do we come from? Where are we going? Why are we here in this realm? or How should we live in order to fulfill our purpose of existence? Here it may be discussed whether this is predetermined by an external institution, such as a DIVINE command, whether a certain behavior arises from nature, respectively for instance a mortal follows the purpose of reproduction or species conservation, or whether to lead a self-determined life autonomously and to choose a way of life that is considered meaningful. And yes, a life appears to be meaningful when it corresponds to ideal values.
And at this point, we can start to disucss the whole "acting knightly within your alignment theme" in a never ending loop.
And with seeing that you are getting my point, I end this post with all my respect towards the all of you,
