To whom it may concern,
I usually stick to matters of gold and inventory, but I've had my fair share of tough negotiations! Here's some tips when you want something from a party that holds an advantageous position over you:
I. Initiate negotiations as soon as possible. The longer you wait, the more likely the other party is to forget you exist! Waiting years and years makes it entirely your fault if nothing happens.
II. Send an appropriate representative as first contact. This can be a leader, someone with a close tie to the other party, or a respected neutral entity. This should never be a random person with no authority.
III. Make a good first impression. If your first attempt at contact is aggressive and rude, expect the price you will need to pay to escalate.
IV. Above all, change starts with you!
