Citizens of the twice-sundered Crown of the Ithmia,

As a previous citizen with certain insights into the upper workings of your "Court" for close to four decades, I must enlighten you as to how the Regency uses propaganda to subvert you. They were, after all, labeled Darkwalkers for a reason. More pointedly, they assume you are stupid. You get to decide if they are correct.

Your dim-witted guards do not simply "hear" things. A Regent hunkers down in their ear, whispering with their ill-gotten authority, and over the next few months their message is cast about in the streets, free from the stain of their rusted tongues.

To the Regency: I do not take kindly to liars or idiots. Especially those riding my coattails far after I've moved on. You will order your guards to cease, or each and every one of your Regents will be hunted down until they do. I trust we will have your whole cooperation in this effort. Or we will have your heads.

To the Citizens willing to be less naive than the guards: I am not your spy. The Regency is lying to you, presumably because the cracks in their foundations are beginning to widen and they think you enough of an idiot to believe them. Again, your Regency assumes you to be stupid. Watch, then, as their own stupidity will not save them, any more than yours will save you.

Oh, and one last note for miss Ita: we will not save you for last. In fact, we will relish in yours the most.
