Greetings all,
A few updates and answers to questions on the KoTH league. If this is unfamiliar to you, please read PUBLIC 21249.
**Tentative Deadline for Team signup is 6 Valnuary 878***
-------
FAQS
-------
-------
'I am a rogue or unable to form a full team, can I still join?'
Yes! If you wish to participate please let me know and I will add you to the SAGA clan where you can join an existing team (that is incomplete) or a new team if enough individuals are available.
Please send me:
- Named
- Citizenship
- Enemy status (if any)
- Role desired (Team member/Designated Reserve)
-------
'I have an incomplete team are there people you can send my way so we can compete?'
Yes! This is just like individuals without a team who wish to compete. Send me your teams info and I will invite you to the SAGA clan where we can match your team up with available player.
In addition to the info requested in Public 21249, send me:
- Number of players needed.
- Desired roles to be filled (Team Member/Designated Reserve).
- Restrictions, if any (Can't be enemies to XXX city/Order)
-------
'I am not sure I can commit, should I still join?'
Absolutely. Join with your team or as an individual and we will help make it work for you. The league rules allow for maximum flexibility to compensate for the many different schedules players and teams will have. This is why Designated Reserves exist and there is no rigid schedule. Instead, a list of teams to play and play by deadline are given. Scheduling matches is between teams and the league will be happy to facilitate and assist with scheduling upon request. While competitive, the entire premise behind the league is to bring people together and have fun.
Example:
Division A
Team 1
Team 2
Team 3
Team 4
Team A's Matches to Play:
Team 2 x 2
Team 3 x 2
Team 4 x 2
Play all by X date.
------
'Can matches be fought back to back?'
Yes they can. You can theoretically play all your matches in a single month.
------
'What if only 3 Team Members/Designated Reserves show up, can we still compete, do we get an emergency replacement, or do we forfeit?'
Teams may play matches if they are understrength rather than forfeit outright. There are no last minute replacements or substitutions allowed - this isn't fair. Detailed forfeit rules will be covered and are available in the SAGA clan. The idea is to get teams to compete, forfeiting is not fun for anyone.
-------
Updates
-------
-------
Scoring
Points to win - 600
Flags reset every 2 minutes (this was an error in the original post)
15 minute limit on matches.
If a match doesn't reach 600 points. Highest score wins.
A tie score is scored as a draw.
-------
Forfeiting
If more than 4 members of either team enter the arena, that team automatically forfeits. (This should be impossible to do if the arena is set up properly)
A match that is forfeited will be scored as an opponent victory and a final score of (300-0).
A match that is forfeited after it has started will be scored as an opponent victory and (600-0).
- Regardless of the points scored prior to forfeiting or giving up, the final score will be (600 - 0). This is to encourage teams to finish matches and punish those who quit midway through a match.
-------
Scheduling
If there are any scheduling conflicts, they will be arbitrated by the league.
If both teams cannot agree on a time to play. The match will be canceled.
All league decisions are final.
-------
Standings and Tiebreakers
Standings in each division are determined by win percentage.
Tiebreakers (in order):
1) Matches completed
2) Most points scored
3) Fewest points allowed
4) Head to head, winner take all match.
-------
**Tentative Deadline for Team signup is 6 Valnuary 878***
-------
Thank you for your continued interest, and I look forward to more of you signing up.
In service,
Commissioner Atul Lanthe.
