The world economy is now in serious jeopardy, given the recent shortages experienced in certain commmodities and the rising prices of same. The effect of this will soon hit the average consumer as the price of raw materials for everyday items will have to be passed onto consumers. Given the gravity of the situation, I feel it is necessary for trade ministers and major retailers to meet to plot a path forward from this calamity.
