Sapience,
Cyrene has found itself without a Patron due to its Imperiate's now decades-long devotion to furthering Chaos. Those who cannot countenance a Cyrene that stands for Chaos continue to abandon their once home - recognising that there is no use bringing forth a better world if it will only be distorted or destroyed. In the wake of such, I wish to clarify the Dark Family's own stance on Chaos.
Certainly, we would agree that the ends justify the means, but this can be true only insofar as an end exists that is worthy of such, and means are used that bring us closer to achieving that end. To the Imperiate, it seems more apt to say that the means justify the end, given that her recent taking to occultism has finally prompted a purported desire by her to assault Ashtan (as to which she has, of course, failed to follow through).
The Dark Family has ever stood against all that would threaten Creation entire. We too wish to build a better world, without the shackles of the Divine, but we will not bow to Chaos to achieve such.
In Creation's nascency, it was free and pure in the Darkness - marred by neither the touch of Others, nor the taint of Chaos. Although the Others besmirched this state first, the invasion of Creation by Chaos further polluted the realm. The children of Shadow remember the Great Warding, held firm against the encroachment of Chaos upon Telhwm Athuin: a Dark bulwark against that which is anathema.
Over the course of history, the Dark Family has continuously played its part in stymieing the forces that would empower and spread Chaos - whispers in the Dark and measured actions taken with purpose across time and plane throughout His invisible army. His Hand has struck without mercy, and His many voices have left no refuge for those who would aid Chaos in the comfortable lies within which they might hide.
We do this of our own volition, and not at our Father's insistence. We believe in the creation of a better world by mortal hands, not Divine. To do this, however, we must demonstrate the necessary judgement - else our independence would simply be our own destruction.
It is my hope that those likeminded to us will unite with us, in both preserving the sanctity of the realm itself and the achievement of mortal progress.
