THE dispute

well.. as you all problably know... it's that time again... for Dave to stick his nose where it doesn't belong and state what he thinks about the issues...
so here it goes:
First of all, Nimos.. I congratulate you upon your eloquent post for your city and one citizen, Halo. Yes he has been mistreated and killed. I am not going to justify the violent actions taken against him. It was wrong of the Paladins to kill him right off, and even before that to try to impose their boycott upon him when he is no longer part of their guild.
Secondly, Isildur and Pierce, I do understand where you are coming from when you became upset about this whole affair. Yes you offered Halo 2K/day to not forge whips and dirks, giving him a few of these items to try to compensate for the massive amounts of gold that he would lose for being kind to you.
But you cannot reasonably expect a business man such as Halo to not sell whips and dirks in Ashtan just because you give him a few of them in return. Anyone who is involved in business would tell you that he is at a loss in this deal.
But back to the guild issue... Halo is in the same class as you are, yes that is true. But he no longer resides in your guild. I am not saying that you think he is still in your guild, but I do understand the feelings of anger and remorse over one leaving your guild. I have been part of the Kharon and the Sentaari, and yes I have left both guilds when I found I was no longer needed or couldn't stay.
I left the Kharon because of clashing personalities with some of my fellows guild members. I will keep names and issues private for their sake and for mine. I also left the Sentaari during the attempted Kharon slavery, this was a very selfish but reasonable choice. I found myself trapped between old friends and new, fighting my old friends to keep them from killing my new ones. So yes I do understand where you are coming from.
In my opinion, this issue needs no longer to be fought about or even posted about. Halo is an Ashtanite, that is his only classification in this issue. His class does not matter here. He is not yours to rule or to be dictated upon by your boycott or embargos. His choice to forge dirks and whips is his own, and he can do what he pleases.
No hard feelings boys, just stating the facts how I see them,
yours always, Dave Kio'Gema

Penned by my hand on the 22nd of Aeguary, in the year 223 AF.
