Addressed to: The Clan of The Faith Recusant
These months have left me torn, as I feel pulled from both sides. My friends, which include all the Recusant, reside now in the fortress firmly rooted in the Thraasi foothills. Those who I called brother and sister in the Order of the Lightbringer. Those who I called 'Dawnlord', or simply 'friend'. Family which I fought a war with, whose corpses I have cradled in my arms and prayed to the Bloodsworn Gods for one more chance at life. I miss you all dearly, even now during these trying times. I wish for nothing more than reconciliation and healing between us all, and for those lost sheep to return to the fold of the faithful.
But in our current state, this is not tenable.
I have been hurt by the departures, and even more hurt by the subsequent heresy I personally have witnessed on occasion. You all know as I do that They are One, and what One says, the Other is in agreement with. You cannot speak on One without speaking on the Other. Based simply off this evidence, I have through many months of arduous self-reflection and a very frank and total accounting of myself, and my values, come to the conclusion that the Recusants are indeed a blight. But the question is, are you as big of a threat as Chaos, Evil, or Darkness? My answer is simply, no. But the Recusants stand in a unique position. Rather than being a direct anathema to Good, you stand with one foot in and one foot out.
Good has existed before the Bloodsworn. But the Bloodsworn have been charged with the safeguarding of Creation, meaning that They are the patrons of all that is Good. To reject Her is a rejection of Good, quite simply. It is very light, and dark. You either walk with Them, or you are completely off the path of Righteousness. Do not be so arrogant, Recusants, to think that YOU can define what is Good, what is Righteousness, what is Light. You place yourselves above Them, and this alone gives me a clear heart and mind when I say these words: By Her Will, and by my sword, you shall be cast into damnation until you repent. Repentance comes when you discard your hubris and rejoin the Dawnspear, or you cease to claim to be some authority on matters and ideals that come from Cosmic entities.
Furthermore, and perhaps that which I find the most vile, as you purport to uphold these antiquated notions of Good, being some kind of basket you can pick and choose your favorite morsels from, is the fact that you keep company with known Darkwalkers, and Aegeans. Let us not forget that Lord Aegis was the patron of the Bastion of Chaos, and currently serves as the patron to the Scions, which would see Targossas torn to the ground and Their City reduced to vine-wreathed rubble. This notion that you can somehow serve Good without first paying homage to the Divine which were given dominion over it sounds distinctly like Darkwalker propaganda. This specific brand of faithlessness sounds quite like that which Hashan likes to peddle, while themselves being heavily vested in Lord Twilight's plots and schemes. Such plots are, of course, to the end of splintering and weakening orders of the Dark Lord's enemies, and we are the first to fall victim to His twisted plans. I draw a similarity here to 'Letters between Old Friends', by Silas Napoli, where we can see that the Church has been infiltrated by Occultists who undermine and styme attempts to purge their Chaotic taint from Creation. I see this in your organization, and I implore you to cast out those who walk in Darkness and War. Perhaps then the shroud of Darkness will lift from your eyes, and you will see the Light once more.
Until that time, as Her Champion, I will ensure you are seared by Her Ire, channelled through my own sword.
