Dawnlord:

Your authority over Their city does not extend to the Caefir Conlaodh. Do not presume to speak for Lord Deucalion or His Order when you understand neither His will nor the implications of your demand. The oath that bound me to Him was sworn in more than words. As His vessel, to leave His service would be to abscond with His Fire.

You are further afflicted by several misunderstandings on the nature of Good and the purpose of the Faith Recusant.

Good does not and has never belonged to the Bloodsworn. Absolute, unchanging, and eternal, Good is a force spawned by Creation itself for the purpose of ensuring its continued prosperity and advancement. Good existed long before Them, and it will continue to exist should They pass.

We of the Faith Recusant make no claim to authority on Good. What we teach is not incompatible with the teachings of the Bloodsworn. Lady Mithraea and Lady Aurora both taught that it is the force of Good that drives the desire for growth within us, and that each mortal is born with the capacity to serve Good. Through this innate connection to Good, a rudimentary understanding of it may be cultivated through introspection and further refined through study and discourse.

It is the duty of servants of Good to serve whenever and wherever possible. The Faith Recusant have endeavoured to uphold their duty in the capacities which they are able. We nurture that which the Dawnspear excised as rot. We shepherd the culled, so that they might continue to serve the will of Good rather than be bent by nefarious outside forces to other ends.

We are not your enemies. We do not wish to be your enemies. Given the Dawnspear's recent failures to stand against its existing foes, it would be both misguided and ill-advised to invent new ones.

It is not the Faith Recusant that has sundered the Dawnspear. You have done that yourself.

Look to your own people, Dawnlord, while you still have one.

In service,
