(Self) Righteous Fire (and Light!)

Many people have asked what happened with Simply Prythe's given the
prior Public Posts relating to same.
As many are aware, Simply Prythe's is now located in Cyrene.
As a side note - come shop! It's stocked with flowers and
chocolates and foods and oh so many wonderful and varied e!
But I digress.
Simply Prythe's was first built close to 500 years ago and located
in Shallam. It was always intended as a shop where one new to the
lands could purchase the necessities of youth at reasonable prices.
When Shallam fell, I mourned along with its citizenry having so
many friends amongst them.
Even though the shop was not available, I offered supplies and
succor. (Yes, that is redundant, but I enjoy alliteration).
When Targossas rose, I cheered, along with my friends, and
immediately visited, traveling the streets and roads of the new city.
When Simply Prythe's was rebuilt within its borders, I rejoiced,
and once again started stocking with needful and interesting goods,
at always excellent prices.
I worked with Targossas, and followed each of their rules.
Then came the Tsol'teth, and my own City was overrun by a hoard of
monsters. Originally Targossas fought by our side, but for reasons
as yet still inexplicable to anybody with cognitive thinking
skills, Targossas turned coat, and joined forces with that evil
hoard.
I do not use the term "evil" loosely, but it needs to be noted
that the Tsol'teth were not the type of Evil as that practiced by
Mhaldor under their Lord Sartan. Those of Mhaldor, a City where I
have had a mostly positive relationship with my entire life -
including my time as a member of the Druid Guild and a member of
Oakstone - has a consistent logic to their practice of Evil, and
frankly, a bit of honour in its undertaking which is difficult to
not respect, even while disagreeing with their aims and goals.
Again I digress.
Targossas purports to be "Good."
I approached Targossas to effectuate a sale of Simply Prythe's as
there seemed to be no end to the issues between Cyrene and
Targossas. It was time for me to move on, much as I hated to do so.
At that point Simply Prythe's was still mine. Closed by Targossas,
but still in my name. Additionally I had always offered to continue
to pay taxes while the shop was closed, an offer made in good
faith, which they told me would not be necessary.
Shortly thereafter, their Chancellor, Avianca, told me that she
had an offer of 2,000 credits, but wanted to hold out for a few
months to see if she could get a better price. Later, on these very
message boards, she acknowledge our agreement, that we were
working together to sell my shop so that it could be moved and that
Targossas intended to honour the deal made with me.
I do not fault Avianca. I believe her hands were mostly tied.
However those to whom she answers - Sothantos, and the Divine
rulers of Targossas, have no honour.
Instead of completing the sale, Simply Prythe's was confiscated.
My compensation from Targossas?
100,000 gold.
You did not read that wrong.
100,000 gold.
I personally had always been friend to Targossas, ally in fact
until the troubles, and am still friends with many of its citizens.
That may end now as I state for the record - Targossas acted
without honour, and no one can justify or defend their actions. If
those actions can be called "Righteous," then I have no room for
anything like that in my life.
That is the story.
The records will back it up if need be.
I remain, as always -
Simply,
Prythe
tl;dr Targossas acted like a thief in the night paying 100,000
gold for a shop they confiscated, after having promised to make a
fair sale of it and pay the proceeds to the owner.
Penned by my hand on the 16th of Glacian, in the year 827 AF.
