For the last 5 decades of my life (my entire life) until now, I've stood
with or beside Shallam in its various fights and goals. Unfortunately,
I'm assailed with the constant reminder that Shallam is not on its knees
right now because fate chose it to be. Rather, they bring things like
the recent raids down upon them almost on purpose. They scream "war"
then fail to defend themselves, let alone aggress. This isn't because
they can't, either, its because they won't.

It pains me to make this statement, partly because its already been made
dozens of times, and partly because I fear it'll affect my friendships
in my home city, but here's one more chance to listen to the rest of the
world, Shallam, when we say that you're bringing your destruction upon
yourself.

Its time to wisen up, Viziers. I am but a humble fighter, not a hero,
but it doesn't take 200 years of combat prowess to see what you're doing
to yourselves. You attack people who don't need to be attacked, you
reject people who don't need to be rejected, and you offend those who
need not be offended. Ideals are wonderful, but only if you're alive to
live up to them. I suggest you choose survival over a noble death. In
the future you may be able to continue the facade, but please, for your
sake... stop pulling down the few pillars left holding up what's left of
your city.
