A cleansing of the soul

Dear Das,
I regret that the recent attention to the happinesses and sadnesses of
love and marriage have brought up your own bitter memories regarding
your own marriage of about 40... or no 50... no wait, it was more like
um.... 60.. years ago? I feel utterly responsible that my own
unhappiness has dredged up such memories of your past love and failures
at love from deep within the catacombs of womb in your soul. I realize
that it's a combination of hearing about my unhappy situation (dredging
up memories) and Ainia's happy one to her gloriously gay fiance (enter
the bitter hatred), that has led you to speak out and finally cleanse
your soul of this pain after these many many years. Ainia is truly a
hard person to forget or to let go of, to gay and straight men alike,
and I applaud your decision to step forward publicly and admit to this
vulnerability where she is concerned. So though I regret having been a
part of the series of events which has reminded you of your pain, I am
proud that the situation may have been the catalyst, so many years
later, to allow you to express it and be free. Good on you, mate. Good
on you.
