The Illusion of Power

In the vastness of all creation, there exists a reality that is
dominated by a race of Supreme Beings. Unfortunately, these beings were
given power beyond their wisdom; and as such, their inept fumblings took
a toll on the lesser inhabitants that populated their existence. You
see, with the power of infinity at their fingertips, the temptation to
meddle in the affairs of their inferior counterparts grew too strong for
them to resist.
These parasitic, 'Supreme' organisms attached themselves to their host,
forcing their victim to divulge their innermost thoughts and visions.
When their perverted, voyeuristic appetite was quenched, they
disconnected from their victim and began the process anew. In many ways,
they were nothing more than a virus - invading their target
surreptitiously and with no regard for anyone or anything.
All was not lost, however. The poor denizens subjected to this vicious
cycle were soon freed from their oppression. Unbeknownst to them, a war
was being fought - between the parasites, and an entity of such power
that not even the 'Supreme Beings' could battle.
With relentless fury, this being struck down the undeserving and
purified the ranks of those not fit to wield power greater than
themselves. It was on that day that a veritable Utopia was created, and
the oppressed had their fill of the nectar and ambrosia that the
parasites once divulged themselves of. They lived out their days in the
paradise that was bestowed upon them, basking under the sun within a
Garden of immeasurable beauty.
Penned by my hand on the 7th of Chronos, in the year 416 AF.
