Life and Death as Gifts

It is fairly common for me to hear upon the market channel requests for
grove resurrections or grove rains in conjuction to "seeking to buy,"
"will pay for," and other phrases along these lines.

This absolutely disgusts me, for several reasons that I will share with
you today in this mini-lecture concerning life and death.

First and foremost, before I go into detail on life and death, I would
like to state that the abilities forestals use in their Groves are not
-their's- to sell. A grove belongs to no one: Nature belongs to NO one
person. We resurrect in our groves, we heal in our groves, we fight in
our groves and we defend ourselves and Nature only because Nature
chooses to allow us to use Her gifts via our groves.

The sunlight gathered by our groves that provides us with the energy to
use those gifts of Nature is not our's to sell. It is not within us, and
we do nothing to earn it; it gathers on it's own accord, on Nature's
accord. It belongs to the Grove, to -Nature-, not to the Druid who tends
the grove in return for the use of Nature's gifts, and Nature should not
need to reward us with gifts in return for our service to Her. It is in
Nature that we find both Life and Death, both experiences for which we
should be grateful. Even if one does not appreciate Death, Life is given
to us by Nature and is alone reason enough for us to serve and protect
Her.

Death is a natural, common part of the cycle of Life and Nature. It is
unavoidable, for all will suffer that fate eventually, only to return to
Life either by Lady Maya's good graces, by Nature's will through grove
resurrections, through the will of the Divine with the help of a
Devotion User, or via the Flame of Yggdrasil, which, also, remains
through the will of the Divine. There are many ways to return to Life,
and one might notice that though each comes with the cost of experience,
none come at the cost of money.

Who can put a price on Life, afterall?

No one.

It is universal blessing; a world wide gift from the Divine and from
Nature.

Life should not be materialistic, and to even suggest that one should
pay to Live is an insult to the idea of Life, for it is far more than
materialism and money.

Furthermore, Death is a gift in it's own right. One might complain that
they lose experience, and fall farther from reaching the next Circle of
Power when they die, but if one does not have the knowledge and strength
to keep themselves from dying, is it not logical to assume that the
experience they had was ill-earned and earning it again will actually
strengthen them and teach them something?

Why complain about something that will only make you stronger in the
end?
Why pay for something that is a gift of the Gods and of Nature, that
comes freely at any other time, except when other mortals are involved?

No one should have to.

With all due respect,
Kaiya Winterwind

P.S. And yes, if you're wondering, I will provide free grove
resurrections to any who need them, so long as the seekers are not
enemies of that and those which I serve and protect.

Penned by my hand on the 21st of Chronos, in the year 415 AF.
