Latter Leavetakings

And Kilian
Who slunk betwixt sibling names
A sibling faenself
Neither brother nor sister fae

This strange mote of thoughtful wisdom
Whose scattered beams of light entranced me for a season
Whose lips and all their wondrous work
For a time was lent to me

And if unworthy of sweet complicated Kilian
Whose moods required neologisms
Whose sadness was a mirror of mine own
What of it, pray?
May we never get what we deserve,
For surely Kilian didn't

I think you've melded now as in your story
I think your ship and pond have finally united
And as I gaze down, see my plumage in your waters
Your silver scales are there and dancing on the Moon

Penned by my hand on the 7th of Miraman, in the year 968 AF.
