Fragments of Eros

Lady Selene was blind
When She scooped the clay to make you
Digging it out of the hillock of my heart
Leaving the surrounding landscape fallow

You smell of kisses in the journal in my head
You move like fire as you lead me to your bed
There's hints of pink in every motion that we share
The crowd will jibe at us, they'll hover and they'll stare

I spied this salty rock
When the Dark Lord set my fate adrift
Dredging it from that bird-infested shore
Leaving me in shadow, deaf and voiceless

Your eyes are mirrors when I dare to meet your gaze
I fall asleep entwined within their winding maze
You dwell inside me now where hungry claws once tore
But from our fingers' dance I'm healed instead of sore

Great Ayar was deceived
When our essences were parted as with Proteus
Moulding me from this half-formed, aching flesh
Whose flame could not be quenched till joined with yours

Penned by my hand on the 3rd of Mayan, in the year 967 AF.
