Within leaves and climbing vines
Patterns, contrariety,
Frisson of dichotomy.

Scansion, rhythm, beat, and stress,
Where to place the emphasis?
Hearts beat quicker, keeping time,
Cadence means as much as rhyme.

Exploration, will this grow?
What may follow, no one knows.
In duality lies doubt,
Seeds in bloom or dead in drought.

Interleaved and intertwined,
How to learn if souls align.
Ignore the rules and rhyme again;
to write you must pick up your pen.
