Trust

"Trust me," said the Paladin,
"For I am Righteous and True."
But, the glint in his eyes,
Betrays his lies,
And bares his corruption to you.

"Trust me," said the Priest,
"For I will Guide your Soul."
But the sweat on his brow,
And the Blood on his cowl,
Betrays the Evils untold.

"Trust me," said the Magi,
"For I am Power in Flesh."
But the smell of burnt skin,
And the Ash on his Chin,
Lend the scent of Decay to his breath.

Penned by my hand on the 1st of Phaestian, in the year 275 AF.
