Why The Dragon Flew On
by Memron
Best performed in a reminiscent tone.
-----

The dragon flew out on that hot summer day
With a job, with a quest, with an enormous bray
He could have been lounging at home in the shade
But still, the dragon flew on.

The winds were not favored, the sky way too grey
His bones were fragile, and he had scares on his name
His scales were the color of dirt in the rain
But still the dragon flew on.

The dragon encountered warriors on the way
They shot at him high, and they laughed in his face
He could have bathed them in majestic flames
But still the dragon flew on.

The dragon flew westward all night and all day
He never faltered and never did lose his way
He finally arrived at the village unscathed
And still the dragon flew on.

He came to the house where the man was in wait
The man who was poor, and was in constant pain
The dragon gave the medicine that kept him awake
That's why the dragon flew on.

Penned by my hand on the 25th of Valnuary, in the year 950 AF.
