Am I kind?

In the quiet of my soul, I ponder deep,
Do my actions spread warmth, or cause hearts to weep?
Am I kind in the words I choose to share,
Do I lift others up, or add to their care?

In moments of need, do I lend a hand,
Or turn away, leaving them to withstand?
Am I a beacon of hope in the night,
Or do I extinguish the flickering light?

Have I walked in their shoes, felt their pain,
Or brushed it aside for personal gain?
Do I offer compassion, without condition,
Or withhold love, creating division?

I strive to be a gentle force, not blind,
To sow seeds of kindness, in heart and mind,
For in asking the question, seeking to find,
I hope to discover, I am truly kind.

Penned by my hand on the 13th of Phaestian, in the year 949 AF.
