A serpent's love is fleeting
Like sand upon a dune
So quickly blown to nothing
By the wind's fickle tune

I love you like spring breezes
Sun's shine upon a scale!
The blossom of a flower
And a lovely campfire's tale

I love you like fat beetles
A snowflake upon my hand
The first buzz of a mayfly
My tummy against hot sand

I've missed you, dear sisters
At Home's sanded address
Today's poems are not for me
Just know I love you! I guess!

I love you like affection
Sweetness I've not known to feel
My cold blood growing colder
With each turning of the wheel

I love you like glass slippers
A princess's lonesome sigh
The thrashing of my quarry
By venom doomed to die

I love you like confusion
Time again it is my own
My love for you persisting
Though wind the dune has blown
