How can a heart break, and then mend
And b r e a k
And yet heal again?
How many times can it be mended before the pieces are too broken to ever come back together again?

It's not their fault they were so beautiful
and kind
and smart
and caring
and wonderful

They should have been stupid and ugly and mean
They should have looked away when I smiled and ignored me when I spoke
For then I would not have fallen in love with them and I would not be broken
