Give or Take

There was once a small cat born under a faraway magical tree
She was born with a terrible Curse, from which she never hoped to be free
While others were made of bones and flesh
She was filled with beans and rice, so fresh
She grew up in the forest, hidden in plain sight
Avoiding being lunch, or even a snack so light
Till one day, the Gods took mercy on her form
And turned her into a real cat, free to roam
She squealed in delight, running home
To tell every bird, every pixie, every gnome
But alas, as soon as the poor cat arrived
A giant tragedy, she saw, had been there contrived
Her home, her tree, had been cut down and long dead
A Taco Shop been built in its stead.

Penned by my hand on the 3rd of Mayan, in the year 772 AF.
