The Great Forgotten Army

There once was a mighty army made of tiny pawns, mighty knights, and impressive generals. The army fought many battles, winning more and more victories as time passed.
Some of the troups were injured and sustained physical handicaps that left them incapable of fighting many battles in a row. Some had lost their swords and shields in battle and needed time to recoupe. They stayed behind to regain strength and recover from a few of the battles.
A tiny pawn became upset that they stayed behind and began whispering into the general's ear. The general decided to oust these soldiers from the army based upon the pawn's opinion.
The army grew smaller and smaller and those left among the soldiers became weary and nervous that they too would fall from ranks. The once victorious army became too small to fight the large battles and slowly became nothing.
Penned by my hand on the 5th of Miraman, in the year 734 AF.
