Youth

Young am I, please see me not as you are used to
My temper untamed and my manners I'm new to
I stand straight to feel tall but in sapience I am small
just a speck in the dust of stars, In the stains of galaxies,
In the smears of universes, I search the meaning of reality
What is the purpose of the listless among the broken and afflicted?
If I wished it, Id make this sapience smile bright like lights
Oh impossible things - I'm meant to think
That's what I'm told because I am young

Young am I, my feet barely walked longer than my near one and twenty
But my eyes have roved among the world plenty, if thats many
I wouldn't know, constant am I told - what I don't know
Innumerable they mesh together like mountains of snow
Chain that I long to break, the chain of ideas and the chain amongst my feet
I aim to the open plains, to travel among the endless unknown streets -
I am meant to dream
That's what I'm told, for I am young

Young am I, I wish to focus my heart into passion
I hope to take a purpose that is long and lasting
For an uncommon purpose among the most common people
Can build the towers past heavens, oh the heights that I'd leap for
To not walk past the dying, the broken without kneeling
A hope that my apathy would not surpass my feeling -
New and strong I hope to always feel by constant revival
Passion forever unbridled,
Even when I am no longer young

Penned by my hand on the 22nd of Aeguary, in the year 667 AF.
