At Peace With Myself
At first unsettled,
like a restless child,
my soul rests in peace.
For now I am content
and my troubles cease.
Though it cost me more
than I was willing to pay,
I let go of past attachments
to have peace of mind today.
Though I regret how things turned out,
now I can say without a doubt,
like a book resting on a shelf,
I am at peace with myself.
