There was heaven in his eyes
And ice in his breath
With bravery he lived life
And with fear embraced death
There was heaven in his eyes
And fire in his touch
But if ever he looked within
He never found much
There was heaven in his eyes
And music in his voice
The one love he had betrayed him
And left him without a choice
There was heaven in his eyes
But nothing else thus far
And his spirit remains just as dark
Just as broken as his heart
There is nothing left of him
Because of all the lies
And I stand here loving him because
There was heaven in his eyes
