It's one thing to know history
Another to observe events
My interests lie with mysteries
Experiences of those who've went.

Just what did my ancestors know?
They fought for the Triumvirate
For greater cause they suffered woe
Was it their choice, why'd they commit?

Or take the Qui'anar of old
Lord Daedalus' famed warriors
What dark experience untold
Led them to thirst for strength perverse?

We see these things from far away
And say we know, we've read the texts
We cannot feel what made hearts sway
Nor grasp predicaments that vexed.
