Memory

Written by: Ellodin Longshanks, Magistrar of Battle

Addressed to: Everyone

I think I once fought in a war
But I can't seem to quite recall
The constant drive, the need for more
That once held me within its thrall.

In days gone by, in ages past
Those ravenous, meager, glorious times
Gritting my teeth, I fought to last
Defeat, my only crime.

But victory sires listlessness
I am the best, I'll win again
Too long do champions convalesce
Heroes grow fat as hens.

Forget the new, bring back the old
Destroy and raze all that's been built
Scorch and ignite, be fierce and bold
And ever will your enemies wilt.

Penned by my hand on the 9th of Sarapin, in the year 644 AF.
