a rumble echoes in the distance
an echoing wail filling a thatched home
blood drips into a porcelean bowl resting below
another wail fills the air, soon followed by a new sound
a crying fills the very air, small hands grasp at the air above
another echoing rumble fills the air, an echo of a flash of lightning
the wailing slows, a new mother holds her child, a smile upon her face
the angel opens his eyes, very deep blue eyes that resemble calmed
oceans
an old mother, as she watches the child before her smile softly, using
her last smile as she closes her eyes quietly, confusion belonging
not to her, but to the baby in her arms now, an old mother cries
rumbles fill the room again, the very soft patter fills the air
the patter of rain sky crying of both joy and loss for them
rolling thunder echoes, lightning flashing harshly
a last gift, a mother's life for her child
