Triumphant Apathy

Grumble in the shadows,
It's safer there I guess?
The weak of will knows,
'Cause they lack courage, oh yes.
Moan and cry, and wonder why?
Apathy is the true enemy.
Not the ones you hate or despise,
Before looking elsewhere, look to "Me".
The one whose reflection looks back,
When you stare into the glass,
Do you see anything you lack?
Do you dare change it, I ask?
Blaming the world for your discontent,
Without taking the first stand.
No wonder things can get so bent,
When people stick heads in sand.
Children wait for mommy to fix it,
Daddy make the nightmares go hide,
But it's your turn, don't sit,
Change the world, your worrisome tide.
It's within each of us to strive,
For better or worse, just try,
To create our own world, take the dive!
You may be surprised what could pass by...
