Poetry News Post #399

can I keep you?

Written by: Feral Cynne Ravenwind, Voice of the Lost

Addressed to: Everyone

Your skin is so sweet
Oh that I could shape it into a cloak
And wrap it tightly about me so that you could always keep me warm
-me and no other

And those strong fingers,
I would take them in my mouth and bite them,
String them on a chord about my neck so that I could know your touch.
-me and no other

I'd burn you to ash,
And sprinkle you on the roots of my grove,
So that I could always come home to you and know you'll be there.
Waiting just for me.

Penned by my hand on the 23rd of Chronos, in the year 257 AF.
